In the history of THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW, the biggest bands in the history of heavy metal have appeared on the show.  Among those include Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Dio, Slayer, Motorhead, Dokken, Motley Crue and so many more.

While the big names are great, sometimes it's the lesser known artists that make the most impact.  THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW has made "stars" out of many lesser known people, including Eric Braverman, Joel McIver, Sheldon Tarsha and Bob Nalbandian!  Find out who will be the next "unknown sensation" on THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW.
The Big And The Not So Big!   Metal radio and classic rock radio have been ruined by overplay of the same tired songs and bands.  Do you really want to ever hear "Nothin' But A Good Time" again?  THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW will dig deeper into the Classic Metal catalog than any other show to bring you the best music!

On THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW, Neeley works hard to bring you music by your favorite bands, but not necessarily the same tired songs that everyone has worn out previously.  Deep tracks, bonus tracks and rare live tracks from your favorite bands are the norm when listening to the CMS!

Additionally, THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW goes out of it's way to bring you the new music from not only the big bands of the past, but the current bands that are keeping CLASSIC METAL alive!  Learn what's good on THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW!

The Classic Metal Show was started by host Wendell Neeley in January of 1996. The show originally aired on 88.9, WSTB, before moving exclusively to the internet in March of 2004 due to a change of career which forced Neeley to move from Ohio to the Chicago area.  On WSTB, the show was known for it's all request format, as well  as Neeley's development of his own "wack pack" which included people like Rockin' Randy, Long Haired Mike, Big Mike, Little Mike and Papa Chuck!

Shortly after moving exclusively to the Internet, Chris Akin joined the show in late 2005. The show has morphed from being primarily a music show to being a "shock jock" type mixture of topical discussion, the best in heavy metal, and more. The internet version of THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW remained a 6-hour free for all, featuring new music listening parties from your favorite Classic Metal artists, as well as interviews from the biggest starts in the world. It's grew to have an identity all it's own.

By some weird twist of fate, The Classic Metal Show was approached by the program director of 104.7FM, KEIF in Enid, Oklahoma in April of 2008 and asked if they were able to do an FCC friendly, but still cutting edge show. The guys reluctantly agreed, and in May of 2008, THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW rejoined the Terrestrial airwaves on 104.7 in Enid. Since then, the show spread outward, as many stations on the Pacifica Radio Network began adding THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW's Terrestrial program to their weekly schedule.

In 2010, Chris Akin left the show and forced THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW to morph once again.  Currently, the show has encompassed many of the elements that made it great in the past, but has actually grown to feature a brand new co-host...THE FANS.  The Classic Metal Show is now a fully interactive experience, with topics thrown out to the audience to discuss in an uncensored, real way unlike anything else on the radio today!  The show will continue to develop, and you can be sure that Neeley will be there for the entire ride!

Tune In!
